Jacqueline Carroll is the Managing Director of Jacqs Pharma and Healthcare Private Limited. With over 30 years of experience in the UK as a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) and Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN), she has held several senior clinical roles, including Hospital Clinical Nurse Manager, overseeing psychiatric inpatient and community services. Previously, as a Social Care Manager for the Social Work Department, she was responsible for reviewing and auditing care delivered in community care establishments. She has also held senior roles such as Head of Care of a Neurological Unit and Hospital Clinical Nurse Manager, managing both inpatient and community psychiatric services. She loved working as a PHCP at a Scottish Mental Health charity SAMH. She holds a BSc in Health Studies (Community Health Nursing) from Glasgow Caledonian University and has completed postgraduate studies in Community Care at Glasgow University. In August 2024, Jacqueline relocated to Pondicherry, South India, and incorporated her company in October 2024. After securing premises, recruiting staff, and obtaining drug licences, she launched the wholesale pharmacy in April 2025. She conducted extensive research on Lifecare Neuro Products Limited, a pharmaceutical manufacturer in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, and visited their WHO-GMP and GLP-accredited manufacturing facility in Baddi, as well as their corporate office in Chandigarh. Jacqueline was highly impressed by their commitment to quality and witnessed firsthand the state-of-the-art manufacturing plant of this global, family-run pharmaceutical company. Her vision is to use the profits from the wholesale pharmacy to fund the Jacqs Mental Wellbeing Centre, a free mental health clinic located in the same building. The clinic offers counselling, yoga, meditation, and other theraputic interventions, provided by qualified psychiatrists, psychiatric social workers, and therapists. It treats a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and addictions. The clinic also aims to increase mental health awareness by conducting workshops on relevant topics such as suicide prevention. To ensure ethical standards, there will be no conflict of interest no medications from the wholesale pharmacy will be dispensed to doctors or psychiatrists working within the clinic, in full compliance with drug regulations. The entire initiative has been self-funded by Jacqueline, with the goal of becoming financially sustainable through the pharmacy's revenue. By partnering with or purchasing from Jacqs Pharma, stockists and customers directly contribute to providing free mental health care for the people of Pondicherry.
